Mississippi has been steadily elevating its economic profile over the past few years, embarking on new initiatives to foster innovation and attract new investments. Gov. Tate Reeves announced in May 2024 during Mississippi Economic Development Week that the state continues to break records. At the start of the year, a truck battery joint venture between Cumins, Daimler Trucks & Buses and PACCAR announced a $1.9 billion investment and 2,000 jobs in Marshall County. The state noted several other
